In the beginning of the 1950s, the British Virgin Islands was reportedly a "heavily underdeveloped" country.

Then in November 1950, a general elections was held and the Legislative Council came into power.

A new Constitution of the British Virgin Islands came into effect, and it became a time of new growth for the country.

According to historical reports, in the early 1950s there were no banks and no hotels.

The country's economy depended heavily on agriculture, fishing, and animal raising for export to the United States Virgin Islands.

It was in McNamara in 1958, Mr. Timothy Christopher opened a business in the location that is now the Sea View Hotel.

When Mr. Christopher first opened for business, it was actually a night club.

And it was later on, the family eventually transformed the night club into a hotel.

Til this day, the Sea View Hotel is a family owned and operated business.

The Sea View Hotel is now owned by Timothy’s daughter, Ishma Christopher.

And it’s currently managed by his great-granddaughter, Safiya Brewley.
